HO Scale Fort Worth, Temple, and Gulf

Upon obtaining a permanent home in the Moody station, Centra-Mod's HO group "stacked" its award winning modules and began the task of building a fixed operating layout, which became the Fort Worth, Temple and Gulf Railroad.

The layout is formatted as a branch line serving towns and industries on a slowly rising terrain between the Gulf Coast and North Texas. Mostly, it is a "hill and gulley" line, without high mountains. The layout has approximately 250 feet of main line with an additional large yard and many industry spurs. The operational era of the layout is the mid 1980's, with diesel power. The layout uses a Digitrax DCC, or "Digital Command Control" system, but can be run on conventional DC power.

The layout is operational will all track laid. Scenery work is an ongoing process. Currently in place are a double track, double through-truss span bridge over a dry fork of the Brazos River, an engineering feat bar-none!

Also, a town named "Notown" with its lofty water tower appears high on a bluff near the yard.

Grain silos and bins have been installed, and the engine facility is nearing completion.

There are several places on the layout still under construction.
